Bringing a long cardigan with you is like a must-do when you are living in Vancouver as it can be steaming hot in the day time and switches 180 degrees and now you are freezing at night even during spring/summer! I am here to share with you guys some tips on how to wear long cardigans in spring/summer time! <3
1.LONG CARDIGAN WITH TROUSER
Remember that it’s best if you go with matching sets or items in same colors/patterns, for example:
- white on white
- floral on floral
- jeans look good with anything plain in colors: black/white/grey/olive green
2.GO FOR CROP TOP
Since we are talking about pulling off long cardigan (of course we have to pick something light in materials) in summertime, I chose to go for a crop top to complete this look!
Because the trouser is already a little baggy, relaxed and casual, matching it with a baggy top would be too heavy for the look. Therefore, going with a body fitting crop top is the perfect choice as it still creates that feminine silhouette. And trust me you don’t have to have a perfect flat belly for this look! At least I didn’t when I took this set of photos haha and I was sucking my stomach back in the whole day through (*opps secrets spilled) If you are still worried about looking fat in a crop top, simply choose a style that shows less of your tummy, and it will work!
3. STAND IN WEDGES / SNEAKERS
Key is to look effortless chic! And my recent secret weapons to achieve that is to go for funky wedges/white sneakers. I love crazy wedges and sneakers. This one I was wearing was from Zara 2 years ago. Oh and it was on sale for only $50; I am always super proud of myself when I find good deals and! also available in my size! =p
4. CROSS-BODY BAGS
Because the long cardigan is suppose to be very light and flowing in the wind, holding a bag that’s too big would be too much and heavy for the look. Perfect option is to go with a small cross-body bag or a clutch.
If you are wearing white cardigans like in this article, you would want to go for something light colors: baby blue, pink, purple, yellow. If you go with black cardigans, go for colors that pop out and strong such as: red, orange, yellow.
